Post Quick Tips to becoming a better artist.
Hi there, I just had a random brain fart and figured I should share some of the things I've learned along the way. Most of this pointers have helped me a lot.

1. No Input, No Output.

I heard this from a friend of mine back in poly and it stuck with me ever since. He may not know how much it has helped me, as simple as it may seem. It just means that one needs inspiration to motivate oneself. You need to be browsing art, looking at toys, watching movies, reading comics, basically just surrounding yourself with art in order to generate art. The more you do so, the more excited you will get about doing your own art.

2. Copy from the best.

Any artists who says he doesn't copy is lying. Every artists copies. There is nothing wrong with it, just make sure you credit the original artist when needed. When you copy a master (frank frazetta, julie bell, shirow, shinkawa, etc), you are learning from them. In that process, you'll develop and discover your own style. Learning from the best only helps you get better and there is no shame in that.

3. Mentors.

I've had several mentors over the years. People who have helped me along the way, taught me the basics when I was but a young padawan. Never let your pride get the better of you, ask for help. You'd be surprised how much help you will get when you are keen on learning. Mentors can steer you in the right direction and often jump-start your learning process.

*Hope this helps, I will update this when I think of something. These are meant to be generic advice and not really pertaining to any specific discipline.
