An incomplete train interior. Work is piling up so i dont think i would have spare time to finish. This took 3 days which was squeezed in between work. Comments and Critiques are welcome.

Post Re: SketchBook
Hi all,

This is my lastest work to polish my lighting and shader skills which is still far from great. I modelled the front grille and a few other parts of the vehicle. Other than that, I did 90% of the lighting and all shaders/rendering set up. Hdri and background image was taken at the Helix bridge.
My superior came up with the concept, set up the shot, did the HDRI, and supervised everything.

Peogeot 107 Draft 1

3ds max and C4d was used for modelling and rendering. Minimum post done in photoshop. Further details upon request.

Comments and Critiques are welcome as usual.

looks great! very original in my opinion.

If i were to nit pick, I think the shader for the car rims feels abit like plastic and maybe the grills seem abit off too.
Those were the first 2 things that made me realize it was 3D. Everything else looks realistic.
Also, The reflections on the car have warmer tones compared to the background plate. I think color correcting the HDRI to match the BG plate would fix this.

How did you take the HDRI images with out any unwanted calefare walking around? Is the helix bridge really that empty?

Post Re: SketchBook
hey, thank for the critiques.
first off, i agree about the feel of the rim too. i can't point out what exactly, but maybe it's the anisotropic quality and the environment reflection.
Secondly, I'm not sure what is off about the grille. if you may enlighten me? I know the size and shape is about right. The shader seems fine to me too.

About the last question, my senior and I went to the helix bridge on a weekday evening, it was stormy(fantastic sky!) to begin with so ya, not many people around. Secondly, singaporeans are very 'automatic', so when they see big equipments set up on the bridge, they automatically walked away to clear the stage. hahaha.

Thank for the feedback. =)

Just found a script which might be useful for 3ds max user using different versions of 3ds max.

http://www.scriptspot.com/forums/3ds-ma ... bbf-script

it basically allows you to export your model/animation and open in a older 3ds max version. Should come in handy for alot of us.
