Post Starting salary range for an animator?
Hi guys!

I'm just curious, what's the starting salary for an animator in Singapore? I'd love to know what the range is like, so that if I ever get asked what my expected salary is, I can quote a figure that's not ridiculously high or low.

Will there be a difference between a game company or a feature animation company?

Thanks!

Between 1.5k to 2k is normal for entry level, MNCs typically pay more. There are many things to factor in, the quality of your reel, the quality you're expected to produce, the volume of the work you're expected to do.

Pay differences varies from studio to studio. Eg: If you join Ubisoft you'll probably get more then joining a local animation studio. But then that's also because they're MNCs. Sorry eh, I don't know much about their pay structure.

This is answer to my best knowledge.

I know many local companies are paying entry level artists around $1700/$1800.

The figures quoted above is based on CG Related companies that does long form animation, vfx or games. This does not including graphic design house, multimedia companies, small post house etc.

For foreign companies who have a higher budget, more govt support and doing higher end work. They normally pay higher. It could be $2000 to $2500. But their entry level requirements and expectation is also much higher.

Some companies can pay between $2000 to $2200. But the working hours expectation is also higher.

Hope it helps.
